Hi all I sincerely hope all are well and will have a nice and safe Easter what ever you do.
I am struggling to type this since my accident but I got to keep trying, the purpose of this is to try and let you know firstly I am not some drugged out loony, I just had a bit of bad luck(lotto gods haven’t smiled) and the main reason is because it is the truth!I tried to keep this brief as possible(their is a LOT more bad luck than I have typed though, I think it rained bad luck and I got soaked) , but at least I lived that’s a bonus I reckon! Can only get better!
Ok I never had to ask before in my life, I am usually the giver/sharer/helper and so on, how quickly life can change so I will give it a go to ask, you never know unless you get off your butt and try and ask!
I am 53 (male, yup old fart syndrome has hit me) and have been a 7 days a week worker with numerous business's for the last 35 years, started with nothing as a youngen and just worked hard and I mean b#%dy hard.
Got married for 26 not to bad years, (well I thought) at least we didn’t starve, no kids to busy working, however the other half decided the grass was greener on the other side.
Got divorced, ended up with just about nothing from that experience, worked for employers for a change for a few years rebuilding, to just get comfy(I don’t need much to be comfy) and December 28th 2013 I just fell over like a sack of spuds (doctors think a stroke and I spent near 3 months in intensive care Mackay base hospital and given little chance of surviving) yippeee I did survive though, thank Christ!
While in hospital some low life broke in to my little rental and stole things important to me like my laptop, gold fob watch chain(about 3oz of gold) and big solid gold ring both belonging to great granddad , cash I had saved ($1920) and much much more, it's rather funny when you think of it, , my little rental place was robbed previously twice in 6 months and again heaps stolen and now NRMA insurance will not pay out because my place was robbed to many times apparently (3 times).
I have no family close(only a half Sister Sunshine Coast)buried my 86 year old mother last week, so sorry I need to ask for a wee bit of help, any household items you may have to spare, anything at all that is not rubbish, I cant afford dump fee's so anything useful please.Picking up may be a little problem as I am learning to walk again(not able to walk real good at present, but my goals are high so I hope one day this will happen, was easy to learn things when your a youngen, hard slog now.
I am currently staying at OZ care hostel facility in Mackay(they provide a great service and help to genuine persons in need, fair enough you have to pay your way on the very small benefit you receive but it's very worth it, bless them for their care) and if I can get well I certainly will be volunteering a few hours here and there to help out, I have just been accepted for a little unit in Mackay vacant in the next couple of weeks by Queensland Housing, however I need to make it a home, everything I had is gone either lost in divorce or stolen or stolen again, (ahhh buggers couldn’t my memories though) while I was in intensive care, so if you can assist in any small way it would be gratefully appreciated thank you kindly, even little things like a couple of old tea towels would be great thank you .
Items needed: Fridge(please not rusted out) small dents ok please, table and chairs, coffee table, bedside tables, some knives forks, plates, plastic storage containers, towels, tea towels, any linen double bed size please, cutting board, sharp knife, can opener, washing machine, tv, (I like the rugby and news that’s all)anything at all I may need to try and look after myself so I am not a burden on the government please.Please pass on my email address to anyone that maybe can help, thank you, Billy. aroona1@optusnet.com.au Please if you know how to put it on facebook, please do thank you
